CBN (Cubic Boron Nitride) is the second-hardest material after diamond.
The properties of CBN include a high level of hardness, strength, wear resistance and thermal and chemical stability.
These properties exceed those of synthetic diamonds and conventional abrasives such as silicon carbide and aluminium oxide.
In particular, the high thermal stability and chemical resistance of CBN make it suitable for sharpening under conditions where synthetic diamonds are not normally used.
CBN delivers outstanding performance when sharpening knives of any steel.
Thanks to its high durability specifications, CBN can be used dry, without a lubricant.
This makes CBN the cleanest of all available sharpening stones.
CBN sharpening stones consist of a 2 mm thick CBN carrier plate mounted on a high-quality aluminium blank.
The CBN carrier plate contains evenly distributed CBN grains in a resin bond.
