D2 Steel is one of the best and most famous blade steels in the world.
Well-known companies from the USA and Japan make knives from D2 steel.
Knives made of this steel perfectly hold the cutting edge and have high corrosion resistance.
After heat treatment, the hardness of the D2 steel blade is in the range of 60-62 HRC.
Blades on knives made of D2 practically do not rust, but since the steel is a little less than stainless steel (from 13% chromium), it is recommended to wipe the blades and not leave them in damp places for a long time.
